Groundwater Information

The UGS monitors shallow groundwater at several sites along and near the Wasatch Front for use in landslide and other groundwater-related investigations. Many of the Wasatch Front wells in the database are associated with landslide-monitoring projects as a result of past and/or present movement. Not all of these wells are actively monitored, as landslide-monitoring priorities change due to local conditions, and monitoring periods may not be continuous. More details about these landslides and other groundwater investigations may be found using the links in the box to the right or on individual monitoring site pages.
